- Open 1 window for each engine and reuse that window for that engine (Default)
If you make a search choosing Yahoo and Altavista, one window will be opened
for Yahoo and one for Altavista.
Then, if you again perform a search, this time selecting Yahoo and Excite, the
results for Yahoo will be shown in its original window (i.e. its window
will be reused); the Altavista window will remain unchanged; and
a new window will be opened for Excite.
Tip: This option allows you to perform multiple searches simultaneously.
- Use only 1 window for my searches and keep reusing the same window for
all engines
If you perform a search at Yahoo once, and then make another search at
Lycos, the search results for the second search will be shown in the older
window, overwriting the Yahoo search results. Thus, the same window will
be reused every time you search.
Tip: Use this option to conserve your system resources by opening
fewer windows.
-
Keep opening new windows for each search and not reuse any existing windows
If you perform a search at Yahoo once, and then again search at Yahoo,
the search results for the second search will be shown in a new window.
Thus, a new window will be opened every time you search.
Tip: This option allows you to perform multiple searches simultaneously and also retain your past search results.
Warning: This option can use a lot of your system resources by
opening several windows.
Note: The Close selected windows button will close only the last
window opened using this option.
